The maximum rate at which an individual can consume oxygen ( max); it’s the benchmark of the cardio-respiratory system’s capacity.
Only 20%-30% of your VO2max is trainable. 70-80% of VO2max is mostly genetic. Therefore for well or highly trained individuals is not the best predictor for performance.
It is the most predictor affected by age.
